KARACHI: Mrs Sadia Rashid, president of Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, launched a new labour room in Nazimabad.

New Labour room in NBHUH BY MRS SADIA RASHID

Mrs Sadia Rashid, President of Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, inaugurated a new labour room at Naimat Begum Hamdard University Hospital (NBHUH) in Nazimabad. Dean Faculty of Medicine Dr Asim Jaffery, Medical Director Hospital Dr Tamim Akhtar, and Registrar Hamdard University Kaleem Ahmed Siddiqui are also present on occasion.

President of Hamdard Pakistan, chancellor of Hamdard University, Pakistan-Japan Cultural Association President Sadia Rashid (b. 1946), is a Pakistani educationist (PJCA).

About Mrs Sadia Rashid

Her parents, Hakim Said (Shaheed) and Naimat Begum had her in Sitaram Bazar, Old Delhi, India, in 1946. 

In the reign of Shah Alam, her ancestors migrated from Kashgar (now Kashi, Xinjiang, China) to the Indian subcontinent. 
Initially, they lived in Peshawar, then Multan, and finally Delhi for almost 18 years. 

After Pakistan was established in 1948, her family moved to Karachi.

Mrs Sadia Rashid married Rashid Munir Ahmad

He is currently functioning as the MD/CEO of Hamdard Lab (Waqf) Pak. She married Rashid Munir Ahmad in 1970, with whom she has three children, MaheNeemeh (known as Maham), Amena Mian, and Fatema Zahra Munir Ahmed (known as Fatema).
 
Rashid Munir Ahmad, her husband of seven years, passed away on February 7th, 2022.

Awards received by Mrs Sadia Rashid

Sadia received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, from the Japanese government in February 2019 for her efforts to improve cultural ties between Japan and Pakistan.
