Pakistan to receive 40 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines

ISLAMABAD: According to UNICEF, Pakistan, the country would receive 40 million additional doses of the COVID-19 vaccine during the first quarter of this year through the COVAX facility.

As per UNICEF, Pakistan, nearly 91 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been delivered to Pakistan since May 2021 through the COVAX facility. UNICEF, Pakistan, stated that half of the country's 175 million doses had been given so far.

Other vital supplies were 41 ultra-cold chain equipment, syringes, a large quantity of personal protective clothing, and laboratory equipment.

Moreover, UNICEF, Pakistan, stated that it supports the government's efforts to close the gender disparity in COVID-19 immunisation by organising door-to-door campaigns, setting up women-only vaccination booths, and enlisting a large number of female vaccinators.
