KARACHI: Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH) has opposed efforts being made by the tobacco industry to legalize the heating tobacco products.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, Secretary General of PANAH Sanaullah Ghumman said the heating tobacco products are as harmful to human health as other tobacco products.
He said about twelve countries of the world including Australia, Brazil, Norway and Singapore have banned these products and Europe is also going to ban it.
Sanaullah Ghumman said due to different tactics by the tobacco industry, about 1200 new children are starting smoking in Pakistan every day, which is having terrible consequences on health and economy of Pakistan.
