SHC moved with plea on MDCAT paper leak

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has been moved with a petition seeking to annul the results of the recently conducted Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), citing allegations of widespread irregularities, including a paper leak.
Sindh government, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and other relevant bodies have been named as respondents in the plea filed through  Advocate Nawaz Dahri, representing the petitioners. 
The lawyer argued that the MDCAT exam, held on September 22, was compromised when the paper was leaked on social media before the test, claiming that over 160 out of 200 questions were shared online, casting doubt on the exam’s integrity.
Advocate Dahri has requested the court to nullify the MDCAT results, conduct the test again, and form a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe the leak.
Earlier, students protested outside the DUHS campus, demanding accountability for the alleged misconduct in the exam. They alleged that the leaked paper bore a close resemblance to the actual test. 
Social media has also been flooded with calls from students for an investigation and a re-conduct of the exam.
