Karachi: The Health Department of Sindh has allowed the MS Medical Sections to procure a medicine stock for three months. The decision has come after a recommendation made by the procurement committee, Medical News learnt on Wednesday.
The health department had earlier withdrawn the power to procure because of complaints of corruption and dishonesty.
The hospitals would sign a contract with the pharmaceutical companies ensuring that the prices would remain fixed for the period of the purchase. An open local purchase bid would also be called inviting the best prices.
The department has insisted that the purchase should be made on the preceding year prices.
