ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) has made significant strides in streamlining its operations through the launch of its new licensing portal, achieving unprecedented efficiency in case processing. This advancement highlights the Council’s dedication to timely, transparent service delivery for medical professionals across Pakistan.

Since the portal’s launch, under the leadership of PMDC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj, 73,361 out of 75,279 cases have been successfully processed and issued. These include Change in Data/Licenses, Extension of Provisional Certificates, Full Registration Certificates, Good Standing Certificates, Provisional Licenses (including for Foreign Graduates), License Renewals, and Registration of Postgraduate Qualifications. These figures underscore PMDC’s efficiency, showcasing its commitment to expediting processes for the medical community.

The user-friendly portal has significantly reduced turnaround times, making it easier for medical professionals to access the services they need. The streamlined digital process has resulted in faster and more accessible service delivery, reflecting PMDC’s focus on continual improvement.

In addition to expediting certifications, PMDC has launched a new portal specifically designed to streamline the recognition of teaching experience for medical professionals. This step ensures quicker approval and verification, benefiting educators and further enhancing the healthcare sector by swiftly acknowledging skilled medical faculty. The initiative marks an important development in recognizing the vital role of educators in medical training, as delays in approvals are now significantly reduced.

PMDC’s efforts to modernize its operations don’t stop there. In a major push towards automation, the Council is preparing to introduce a state-of-the-art Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This system will automate in-house secretariat functions, improving overall workflow efficiency, enhancing record-keeping accuracy, and reducing response times. By leveraging this cutting-edge technology, PMDC is setting the stage for more streamlined operations, ensuring better service delivery and increased transparency for its stakeholders.

The ERP system is part of PMDC’s broader commitment to integrating the latest technologies into its operations. By centralizing various functions, the ERP will help optimize workflows, enhance data accuracy, and improve the speed of responses to medical professionals’ needs.

President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj’s proactive leadership has played a key role in driving these reforms, helping PMDC address existing challenges while positioning the organization to better serve Pakistan’s medical community. The Council’s ongoing digital transformation ensures that it remains responsive to the evolving needs of healthcare professionals and continues to set new benchmarks in service delivery.

With these initiatives, PMDC reaffirms its commitment to supporting medical professionals by providing efficient, transparent, and timely services. The Council extends its gratitude to all stakeholders involved in these improvements and looks forward to setting even higher standards in the future.
