Anti-dengue fumigation drive to continue till 20th: Dr Solangi

KARACHI - Provincial Manager of Dengue Prevention & Control Programme, Sindh, Dr Masood Ahmed Solangi said here that the ongoing fumigation campaign against dengue/malaria virus in the city will continue till Nov 20.

The aim of the drive, he added, is to cover all districts of the metropolis.

Dr Solangi said that anti-dengue and malaria fumigation drive was being monitored by town health officers, Dengue Programme’s monitoring teams and representatives of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation.
He said that of the total 2,703 dengue fever cases detected in Sindh since Jan 1, 2015, as many as 2,639 were reported from Karachi alone.

According to him, most of the dengue fever cases were reported from districts West, Central, East, South and Defence Housing Authority (DHA) areas.  

At the outset, he claimed that dengue diagnostic kits have been provided to the public sector hospitals.
