China will not accept sanctions on Russia says, Guo Shuqing

BEIJING: China will not join Western-led sanctions against Russia, the country's financial regulator said. He said that he anticipated the sanctions would have a limited impact on China.

China, which has consistently condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine, has criticised what it terms illegitimate and unilateral sanctions.

 Guo Shuqing, Chairman of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, said, "As for financial restrictions, we oppose them, particularly unilaterally imposed measures, because they are ineffective and without legal justification."
