CHK Introduces ‘Capso-Vision Medical Procedure

KARACHI- Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) had recently introduced an innovative medical device, termed as Capso-Vision, that specializes in diagnostic imaging of the gastrointestinal system.

Additional Medical Superintendent, CHK, Dr. Arif Niaz, stated that the  Capso-Vision medical device will empower physicians and patients by providing them with superior clinical outcomes and improving patient’s quality of life, altogether.

Capso-Vision is a capsule like device, used for endoscopic procedures, where the patient swallows a capsule with water and the device remains in the human body, for about 15 - 16 hours, and captures relevant images, that aid in diagnosis. After completion of the procedure, device retrieves from the patient’s body.

Dr. Arif further explained that, Capso-Vision helps to diagnose multiple intestinal problems and is a costly procedure performed at private health facilities. To maximize its reach, Capso-Vision procedure will be performed free of cost, within the premises of CHK, benefiting the needy patients.
