KARACHI- A heatstroke management response centre has been set up at Civic Centre’s KDA Polyclinic, besides a doctor has been deputed at Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) helpline 1339 and 1122.
These measures were taken on the directives of newly-appointed KMC Administrator Roshan Ali Shaikh.
Meanwhile, the corporation’s senior director (Medical Services) Dr Salma Kausar has informed the administrator that 40,000 heatstroke patients have been provided treatment facilities at 42 heat management response centres set up across the city.
Later, Roshan Shaikh along with Metropolitan Commissioner Samiuddin Siddiqui visited Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) to inquire about the treatment facilities being provided to heatstroke patients admitted there.
