SARGODHA: As per official reports, two more children died on the December 29, for shortage of necessary medical facilities at the Sargodha District Teaching Hospital.
About 74 children have passed away at the hospital within a period of 41 days because of acute shortage of oxygen and other medical facilities necessary for survival of infants. The hospital administration blames the provincial government as responsible for the children’s deaths as it could not provide the hospital with medical and technical facilities.
Hospital officials stat that despite the many promises made by the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, no measures were taken to redress the situation.
On the other hand, the deaths of over 250 children in 2014 have been reported from Thar resulting from malnutrition and lack of medical supplies. As the toll continues rising up, it leaves more and more families get affected and the performance of the political parties have become more questionable.
