Sindh's cabinet establishes a minimum price for wheat

KARACHI: The Sindh Cabinet agreed in a meeting to maintain the province's wheat support price at Rs2200 per maund.

The cabinet, chaired by Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh, approved the procurement of 1.4 million metric tonnes of wheat and budgeted Rs. Four thousand four hundred fifty million for the purpose.

As per the sources, Murad Ali Shah directed that wheat be procured in northern Sindh beginning March 1. "The procurement facilities are scheduled to open in the final week of February," he remarked.
