DIME set up at Ojha campus

Karachi: Dow Institute of Medical Education (DIME) set up by Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) at its Ojha Campus will help restructure, organize and optimize the existing medical education programmes being conducted at the university.
This was stated by acting vice chancellor of DUHS Prof Masood Hameed Khan at the inaugural ceremony of the DIME held at the university’s Ojha campus. The ceremony coincided with a workshop on ‘Advanced Teaching Skills’ and held at the same venue was largely attended by senior faculty members and students of the university.
Prof Hameed Khan said that the institute has been established for teaching, faculty
development, scholarship, development and evaluation of educational programmes through
service provision, research and innovation for the entire nation.

Highlighting the importance of teachers’ knowledge and skills development, he floated the idea of making teachers’ training programme mandatory for each faculty member of Dow University.
The university’s Quality Enhancement Cell’s director Prof Rana Qamar said that university since its establishment had always tried to develop human resource development.
DIME’s director Dr Syed Imran Mehmood said that this Institute would ensure that medical and allied health professionals produce graduates equipped with skills and knowledge.
