LAHORE: A National Institute of Health delegation, led by CEO Dr Muhammad Salman, met with Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique to discuss the National Action Plan for Health Security.
The delegation included Health Advisor Dr Safi Malik and members Dr Aqil, Wahaj, and Afifah. Discussions centred on bolstering federal and Punjab provincial cooperation to enhance health sector initiatives. The delegation briefed the minister on various projects aimed at strengthening health security.
Khawaja Salman Rafique expressed appreciation for the delegation's recommendations, highlighting Punjab’s commitment to improving healthcare services and emphasising that the government is prioritising public health.
He acknowledged the robust health security measures currently in place in Punjab and expressed optimism that implementing this plan would enhance compliance with International Health Regulations.
Plans to increase the capacity of government laboratories were also discussed as part of the broader health security strategy.
