RAWALPINDI: In the last 24 hours, Rawalpindi reported 131 new dengue patients, according to the District Health Authority. The majority of the cases, 47, were reported from Pothohar Town's peri-urban areas, followed by 36 from Rawalpindi Cantt Board localities and 12 from Municipal Corporation areas.
Currently, specialized dengue wards in various allied hospitals are treating 290 patients. This includes 84 at Holy Family Hospital, 80 at Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 42 at Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital, and 25 each at Fauji Foundation Hospital and various private hospitals.
Since January, a total of 4,839 dengue cases have been diagnosed in the district. Financial penalties for violations of dengue SOPs have reached Rs. 21.48 million, with 5,179 cases registered against offenders. The district has recorded 11 fatalities due to dengue fever.
