16 Central Jail Peshawar inmates test HIV/AIDS positive  

PESHAWAR: In an alarming development, 16 inmates of Central Jail Peshawar have tested positive for HIV/AIDS.

This was disclosed by Jail Superintendent Muhammad Waseem Khan, saying the diagnosis was made during routine blood screening of the inmates.

According to the superintendent, the affected inmates are drug addicts who are segregated from the healthy prisoners.

Currently, the Central Jail accommodates 3,400 inmates, where HIV-infected prisoners are receiving treatment and counseling.
