Balochistan CM initiates advanced trauma centers for Quetta

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has directed the establishment of advanced trauma centers in both northern and southern Quetta to bolster emergency medical services. In a recent meeting, CM Bugti assessed plans to enhance medical assistance province-wide, with the Health Department Secretary delivering detailed briefings. Bugti assigned officials from the Communications and Works and Health departments to pinpoint suitable locations for these centers in Quetta. Emphasizing swift implementation, Bugti highlighted the centers' pivotal role in easing pressure on Civil Hospital Quetta's trauma facilities.
Bugti also advocated for the commencement of medical services at Khuzdar and Zhob trauma centers through outsourcing, aimed at addressing local patient needs and reducing dependence on distant healthcare facilities. Enhancing emergency medical services to save lives in accident scenarios was a focal point, with instructions to integrate highway rescue centers with state-of-the-art trauma facilities equipped with modern technology. Bugti additionally urged for the relocation of the trauma center currently housed at Civil Sandeman Hospital to a more suitable site following a comprehensive review and submission of a relocation report.
