SFDL to hold DNA training session for MLOs

KARACHI: Sindh Forensic DNA and Serology Laboratory (SFDL) at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, will conduct a day-long training session for relevant medico-legal officers (MLOs) on Saturday.

The Spokesman of the ICCBS - the University of Karachi said that the relevant medico-legal officers in the training session would be provided with comprehensive training about the sample collection for forensic DNA analysis, a chain of custody, and interpretation of reports. 

This session is a part of the training program designed for various stakeholders separately, catering to their official needs, the spokesman said, adding that SFDL In-charge Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad Khan, Police Surgeon Karachi Dr Summaiya Syed, and Director CPLC Shanakht Project Amir Hassan will conduct the training session which a panel discussion will follow. 

The technical issues frequently faced by the MLOs and the advancements in the field of Forensic DNA will also be discussed.
