KARACHI- As many as 23 people, including 3 women faced injuries due to aerial firing New Year’s Eve, in different areas of Karachi.
Karachi Police Surgeon, Dr Ejaz Ahmed Khokhar informed that a total number of 23 people got injured in celebratory firing, however, no death was reported, in light of these instances.
He further informed that 9 injured citizens were brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, 9 to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), and 5 were taken to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), respectively, to get treatment.
Dr Ejaz mentioned that Medico-Legal Centres of major health facilities of Karachi were put on high alert, in connection with New Year’s celebrations.
Rescue sources revealed that aerial firing occurred in areas of Ayesha Manzil, Liaquatabad, Federal B Area, Lines Area, Cantt Station, Naagin Chowrangi, North Nazimabad, Old Sabzi Mandi, Landhi, Korangi and Five Star Chowrangi.
