Civil Hospital Hyderabad nurses caught red-handed stealing expensive medicines

HYDERABAD: The administration of Civil Hospital Hyderabad has caught two staff nurses red-handed while stealing expensive medicines from the hospital’s stock. The nurses, identified as Staff Nurse Samina and Staff Nurse Nagina, were reportedly involved in the illegal activity for several months.

According to Dr. Faizan Memon, Assistant Medical Superintendent (AMS) of Civil Hospital, the theft was uncovered after repeated complaints regarding missing medicines from the Pads Ward. In a joint operation led by AMS Store and AMS Security, the nurses were intercepted while attempting to escape with stolen medicines concealed in handbags and drug-filled shoppers.

The recovered medicines were high-value drugs that are sold at exorbitant prices in the market. Following the incident, the hospital administration has relieved both nurses of their duties and ordered them to report to the Health Secretariat in Karachi. Additionally, an inquiry committee has been constituted to further investigate the matter.
