KABUL: A pregnant New Zealand journalist stranded in Afghanistan due to her country's COVID-19 border policy said that she would return home after her government finally offered her a route home.
Her predicament rapidly became an embarrassment for New Zealand, with hundreds of residents awaiting placement in military-run border quarantine facilities.
Bellis expressed gratitude to Taliban and New Zealanders for their support and stated that she would continue to press the government to find a reasonable alternative to the country's border controls.
