ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved an increase in the price of electricity by Rs3.27 per unit on residents of Karachi as a result of a monthly fuel cost adjustment.

As stated by the official of NEPRA, the increase in electricity costs would be applied to April bills.

The increase in electricity bills will cost Karachi's power users Rs 3.58 billion more.

A hearing on the proposal for an increase in electricity tariff of Rs4.68 a month due to a monthly adjustment in fuel costs was held by NEPRA at this time.
